Immersion. The key to learning and understanding a language lies in your experience and the degree that you are able to delve into the culture. At Academia Latinoamericana de Español, you will find yourself swiftly learning Spanish amidst traditional Bolivians and the colonial history that defines Sucre.
Regardless of your level of proficiency, students will find a program that suits their needs, goals and learning styles. Classes are 60-minutes in length for four hours a day. The maximum number of students per class is four and students will learn using the four language skills: listening, grammar, oral and written comprehension. Students will be well taken care of in their homestay by native, middle-class families who live no further than a ten minute bus ride from the school. The homestay is a great opportunity to learn about Bolivian customs and their way of life.
Why Sucre? This charming colonial city is known as the “White City of the Americas” due to the numerous white colonial buildings and their shiny red tile roofs. Sucre is set in a valley surrounded by low mountains and is easily explored on foot. A university town with many museums, shops, restaurants and a lively central plaza, this youthful city emanates energy.
Programs range from $275 - $470 per week depending on the course that is chosen. Additionally, there are volunteer programs, activities and other arrangements that can be made to enhance the students’ stay.
Students interested in studying at Latinoamericana can speak with Sabrina Schwarz. Fluent in English, Spanish, German and French, she is happy to help answer any questions as well as guide you through the decision-making and application process.
