El Rey Palace Hotel can be found in the center of town at the top end of the Sopocachi district. The rooms are a good size, with king size beds and great showers – ask for a mountain view. There’s an air of grandeur here, all be it a little outdated, but the hotel is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The staff is welcoming and helpful, speaks good English and is forthcoming with sightseeing tips. There’s a restaurant on the top with good views of the city. Breakfast is a bit limited – you’ll have to ask especially for cooked food. Suites are also available.
