There are restaurants in La Paz to fit any budget – from ladies serving up their wares on street stalls to top class international restaurants.

The Prado is where you’ll find most of the fast food joints – pizza and fried chicken being the favorite. You’ll also find tons of pizza joints along Calle Illampu. Cafés are in no short supply around the city, with the main clusters being on the Prado, in and around Calle Sagárnaga and in Sopocachi. Many restaurants serving specialty local cuisine can also be found around Calle Sagárnaga. Stalls selling salteñas and empanadas are found everywhere. Chifas selling Chinese cuisine can also be found all over the city.

Sopocachi is the place to head for international cuisine – here you’ll find sushi, fondue, chateaubriand and tapas. In the Zona Sur of the city you’ll find an array of top-end international restaurants.
