It's not as captivating as the beach of the same name in Brazil, but the Copacabana Beach is about as close as you will get to surf, sand and sun in landlocked Bolivia. Though the high altitude and grainy sand make for unappealing sunbathing, it’s a nice place to spend an afternoon. There are food stalls and boat companies lining the shore, which is pleasantly populated but not overcrowded, and several small grassy areas make for prime reading spots. A multitude of hotels have seaside views, perfect for porch sitting and wine drinking over a tranquil sunset.
