Just next to the 2 de Febrero Plaza, the Mercado Modelo is a great place to stock up on fruits, veggies and pig parts (think heads and hooves), if you plan on cooking for yourself. Vegetarians beware, the entrance also serves as the meat stalls. Venture in a bit further, however, and you’ll find all the fresh (this is relative...) produce you will need while in Copacabana. Lining the outside of the market are booths and stalls set up with well-priced dry goods, including stationary, toiletries, shoes and clothing.
