Hostal Wara

Hostal Wara offers basic no-frills accommodation close to the waterfront in Copacabana, making it handy for budget travellers catching boats to or from the Islas Del Sol and De La Luna.

Rooms are spacious, clean and adequate, so long as you are not expecting luxury. However, for 20 bolivianos per person per night (3 US $ approx.) for a bed in a room with shared bathroom, you can’t ask for too much (rooms with private bathrooms go for 30 bolivianos, or 4 US $ approx. per person and triples and quadruples are also available). Having said that, some of the rooms on the top floor have great views out onto Lake Titcaca and the staff members on reception are friendly.

Accommodation prices at Hostal Wara do not include breakfast. However, Avenida 6 De Agosto boasts a range of inexpensive eateries, and there are also many tour agencies on this street offering trips to the Islas or bus tickets to further destinations. There is no internet access at Hostal Wara. However, there are several places to get online nearby for between 8 – 10 bolivianos (1 – 1.50 US $ approx.) an hour.
