The Hotel Gloria is a basic, mid-size hotel managed by the Gloria Hotel chain of La Paz. The company bought up the rural Hoteles Prefecturales from the departmental government and runs similar establishments in Coroico, Nor Yungas and at the Urmiri Hot Springs on the altiplano. Rooms and suites are very clean, spacious, and most have excellent views of Lake Titicaca. The adjoining private bathrooms are plumbed with abundant hot water. An American style breakfast is included. Staff set up a buffet with breads, pastries, cereals, coffee and juices as early as 7:00 A.M. If you want complimentary ham and eggs, just ask the waiter. This three-story hotel has a number of public areas including a comfortable lobby, large game room, and a cozy television theater. There is no elevator. Parking is available in a secured lot.
