Isla de La Luna is not serviced by public boats, but rather tours and private lanchas which can be chartered from the shores of Copacabana and Isla del Sol. It can get a bit costly if you don’t go with a tour, as hiring private transport for the hour or so ride may cost around $25. The island is about eight kilometers west of Yumani, the southern community, and it’s likely this is where you will be coming from. Ask about renting a boat or hoping on a tour at the ticket office on the shore of Yumani, at the end of the Inca Steps. You can also check with private boat drivers who may have just dropped visitors of on Isla del Sol, or who are docked waiting to be hired. If you’re heading to the island directly from the mainland, check with the tour agencies on 6 de Agosto, as well as the small boathouses on Copacabana Beach.
