It's unlikely you will spend much more than a couple of days on the island, and therefore it's simple enough to take care of all your service needs before or after your trip, while in Copacabana. If you do find yourself with the need to make a phone call, or use the Internet, however, Hotel Inti Wayra is the only place claiming either service (not something to count on though). Also, there are no ATMs on the island (or in Copacabana), and credit/debit cards are not accepted anywhere, so come prepared with plenty of cash.
The one service you can rely on though, is shopping--surprisingly not at outrageous island prices. For treats such as Bolivian wine ($3.50 / 25 Bs. and up), beer (one can: $0.85 / 6 Bs.), Coca Cola ($0.70 / 5 Bs.) and chocolate (local: $0.45 / 3 Bs., Snickers: $1.15 / 8 Bs.) and necessities like water ($0.60 - $1 / 4-7 Bs.) and toilet paper ($0.30 / 2 Bs.) check out the small shops and/or stands along the stairs. Additionally, it's not hard to find traditional artisan goods, on sale by local women and sometimes kids sat beside the walkway. Most common is the ever-desireable alpaca gear (sweater: $10-14 / 70-100 Bs., gloves: $3 / 20 Bs., hats: $3-6 / 20-40 Bs., table clothes: $10-12 / 70-80 Bs.).
