Kusijata and Baño del Inca

The village of Kusijata is home to a colonial hacienda mansion, which doubles as a community-run archeological museum, Museo Arqueológico Regional. This museum contains some excellent artifacts from the Chiripa, Mollo, Tiawanaku and Inca cultures, as well as a mummy. The terraced gardens were once where the royal Inca palace was purported to have been. In the mansion’s terraced gardens are pre-Columbian irrigation channels and the Baño del Inca, a small stone tub with a tap. The 1.5 meter (5-ft) deep pool may have served for ceremonial baths for the Incas. The grounds have other ancient ruins and stone paths.
