
Refugio Los Volcanes – With over 270 species are bird in the area, Refugio Los Volcanes is a great base for bird watching. There are also orchids and bromeliads and a wealth of animals. It’s situated in a deep valley with many different trails to explore the surroundings. There is a colonial style lodge and a variety of food on offer, including vegetarian options. They also offer guides and camping. It’s 45 km east of Samaipata, accessed through Bermejo. Contact tour operators to visit.
La Yunga – This camp’s main attraction is the trail through a giant fern forest. There are other trails that take you through a variety of forest terrain. The community offer cabins, camping, guides, food and cultural programs. It’s situated about 36 km north of Samaipata via the village of Mairana, Cel: 7630-4840.
Jardin de Las Delicias – This community camp is situated on the eastern edge of the park, just 70 km from Santa Cruz. With stunning views, a wide variety of trees and plant-life and four stunning waterfalls right next to the camp, this is a place for true nature lovers. You need to trek through the forest to get to the camp and facilities include horseback riding, white-water rafting, local guides, comfortable rooms and a variety of food, including vegetarian options.
