In business for more than 20 years, La Casa del Camba these days lives off its well deserved reputation for serving good and entertaining meals at reasonable prices. The entire experience is decidedly traditional, from the cadre of friendly waiters dressed as gauchos (it’s a bit like what Speedy Gonzalez wears, complete with the white pants and shirt and a sombrero-esque hat) and local singers and dancers to a menu that includes a variety of barbecued steaks, sausages, ribs and chicken as well as locro de pollo (a chicken soup with potatoes and rice) and fried plantains or yucca. Especially tasty are the majadito de charque (a mixed plate of rice, jerkey, eggs and plantains) and the keperi (a corned beef and rice plate). If the weather is nice, take advantage of the restaurant’s large outdoor dining area complete with trees and a miniature waterfall.
