This free university museum on the corner of Calle General Bernardo Trigo and Calle Virginio Lema displays an impressive collection of fossils, dinosaur bones, ceramics, precious stones and human remains from around Tarija. Pieces of note include skeletons of two glyptodonts, which look like giant armadillos with ferocious teeth, remains of an Andean elephant and two huge dinosaur replicas. It’s only a block away from the main square.
