Albergue Ecologico Chalalán - Hotel Rurrenabaque - Bolivia

Chalalán is the only permanent settlement inside of Madidi National Park. This lodge is a delightful four or five hour boat ride into the park. It was the first of the community based eco-lodges. It was developed as a partnership between the community of San José de Uchupiamonas, about 25 kilometers upstream from the lodge, and a group of NGOs and government agencies. A four day stay at the lodge costs about $280 per person, and includes a full agenda of wildlife and nature exploring, cultural exploration, and a healthy dose of rest and relaxation.
