San Miguel del Bala Eco-Lodge - Hotel Rurrenabaque - Bolivia

Recently named #1 in Specialty Lodging in Rurrenabaque, San Miguel del Bala, made up of 2 lodges (San Miguel del Bala and Caquiahuara), is your entry into the Bolivian Amazon. Fresh, organic, locally and sustainably grown produce will be on your plate each day from the indigenous agricultural traditions of the small community of about 35 families that run the lodge. In the community you will have the opportunity to learn the indigenous culture and the history of the area in relation to the nearby Madidi National Park. It can be reached from Rurrenabaque by taking either a 40 minute boat ride up the Beni River.

Of the two lodges, the San Miguel lodge has 7 private cabins with 6 having 3 beds each and the last cabin has a matrimonial bed. Located within the Madidi National Park, the Caquiahuara lodge is available to guests booking tours from 3 days/2 nights to 5 days/4 nights in length.
