Tourist Information

There is a helpful tourism office run by municipality on Calle Avaroa (Mon.- Fri.: 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.). Visitors heading on to Parque Nacional Madidi should stop by the SERNAP office in San Buenavantura.

Money

There are no ATMs or banks in Rurre. You may be able to change currencies or traveler's checks at a tour agency or hotel.

Telephone

An Entel office is located at Comercio and Santa Cruz. It is open for normal business hours during the week and on Saturday mornings.

Internet

Rurrenabaque has a number of internet cafés, but they are among the slowest and priciest in the country. The creatively-named Internet stands on Comercio and is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Laundry

There are a number of lavanderías catering to the backpacker crowd. The best reputation belongs to Number One, which is located on Vaca Diez between Acaroa and Bolivar.

Medical

There are some farmacies and doctors' offices in Rurre, but for serious ailments it is best to seek treatment in Santa Cruz or La Paz.
