The biggest annual festival in San Ignacio de Velasco is the celebration of the Día de la Tradición on the October 12. The festivities take place on the second Sunday in October and include colorful displays of music and dancing and an artisan fair exhibiting local arts and crafts. The bi-annual international baroque music festival is well worth celebrating in San Ignacio de Velasco, as the town has a jam packed schedule of concerts throughout the celebrations - see when to go in the Jesuit Missions section for more details. On the July 31 the town celebrates its patron saint’s day, the fiesta de San Ignacio de Loyola. Festivities go on for three days and include rodeo events (you can join in if you want!), food fairs and non-stop merriment.
