Puerto Almacén and Puerto Varador - Activity Info. Trinidad - Bolivia

The commercial port of Puerto Almacén is situated about eight kilometers southwest of Trinidad, and is the place to head for jaunts along the Río Ibare into the Amazon. There’s a balneario close by, Las Lomas, where you can go swimming right on the shores of the river. Cargo boats leave from here when the water level is high, to head north to Guayaramerín and south to Villaroel in the Chapare.

Puerto Varador is about four kilometres from Puerto Almacén, and is reached along the same road. It no longer sits on the shoreline of Río Mamore as it once did, so is not a port, but there a several good fish restaurants here, and places you can go for a short stroll.
