When to Go

Coroico’s average year round temperature of 64° F (18°C) makes it ideal to visit any time of year, but the most pleasant months are probably during the dry season, from May to October. The summer is hotter and prone to electrical storms. The village is popular with paceños at the weekend and on Bolivian holidays, but outside these times the village will be much quieter.

Coroico's main festival is held on October 20 and is a grand affair with lots of traditional dancing and festivities. There are also events in the weeks leading up to the fiesta. There is an international music festival in July and the Afro-Bolivian community of Tocaña holds its annual fiesta on August 15, during which traditional Saya music is performed.
