Despite being a popular getaway, Coroico isn’t exactly overflowing with decent places to eat. However, if you know where to go, there are a few excellent places that are definitely worth a look (and bite). If you can stomach a big lunch in the heat, there are some extremely good value Bolivian set lunch almuezos that will be sure to fill you up for the day. You can also find diverse cuisine like crepes, pizza, fondue and German Käs spätzle.
Many hotels, especially the bigger ones, have restaurants attached, which typically serve a mix of international and Bolivian food. There are a number of small cafes around the village, selling local coffee and cakes. The Comedor was being refurbished at the time of writing, but is a good source of budget meals when it’s open.
Note: The concept of service in Coroico doesn’t really exist. Restaurants are often left unattended, are rarely open between meal times, and often don’t have half of the dishes listed on the menu. It may take a while to get served, but the locals are really friendly, so just come with a relaxed attitude. Many places are open on Sunday but shut on Monday or Tuesday.
