The magnificent ochre and silver Casa Dorado sits in the middle of the city on the corner of Calle General Bernardo Trigo and Calle Ingavi just a block away from the main plaza. It took more than 20 years to build, finally opening in 1903, and is now Tarija’s official Casa de Cultura. Inside you’ll find an ‘Art-noveau’ mix of Persian rugs, gold-leaf molded frames, marble, rock-crystal chandeliers and oil-painted ceilings. There’s an art gallery, library and impressive main hall.
