Dates for Carnival change every year. It is based upon the Christian calendar. The celebration always occurs the four days before Ash Wednesday, which is exactly 46 days before Easter Sunday. Below are future Carnival dates so you can beginning planning your trip to Brazil early:
2007: February 17-20
2008: February 2-5
2009: February 21-24
2010: February 13-16
2011: March 5-8
2012: February 18-21
