Hostel

By Nili Larish

Located in the beautiful Pelourinho neighborhood of lively Salvador, Brazil, the Nega Maluca Guesthouse is sure to be one of your most memorable hostel experiences in all of South America.

The hostel is owned by a youthful Israeli/Colombian couple who has traveled extensively, and knows from experience what travelers are looking for in a place to stay. They want you to feel welcome in their hostel, as if you are guests in their home, not anonymous travelers sleeping in some forgettable hole. Indeed, on beautiful nights when the breeze is just so, you will find the owners lounging in hammocks on the veranda with the rest of the hostel’s international habitants, talking about places they’d like to explore next.

With a laid back and friendly atmosphere, two cats and a dog running around, walls covered in photographs taken around the world, free internet access and a fully equipped kitchen, you can’t help but feel at home in the Nega Maluca. Don’t forget to leave the hostel and check out all the culture that Salvador has to offer!
