I can't imagine a better place to stay than Village Novo. The room is more impressive than the photos portray and the location is breathtaking. The terrace is filled with tropical plants and has a beautiful panoramic view of the bay. We spent several afternoons up there drinking a bottle of wine and watching the sunset before getting ready to out dancing in the old city.Barra is a small beach community with paople always in their bathing suits or bikinis, jogging, walking, or just sitting on the wall taking in the Brazilian way of life. We spent a week there and we're able to take in a concert at the fine arts theatre, highly recomended, located just up the hill from Barra. The owners are always around and have good indications of what to see, where to go, when to go and how to get there. So, if you want to leave all your worries at home, Village Novo is your best choice.
