Situated only a five-minute walk from both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Piratas de Ipanema is one of the cheapest, most ideally situated hostels in Rio. Although the rooms are a little shabby (the upstairs dorm is larger but much airier), in all likelihood you will not be spending much time there, as the hostel organises nightly, often alcohol-related, activities. Also unusually for a budget option this hostel has a swimming pool.
