The water is cold, so wear a full-body wet suit. In Rio, the main diving spot is off the Cagarras Islands, near Ipanema. Visibility can be bad. The currents and diving conditions are only possible at the end of the summer. This is O.K. if you need a quick diving fix while you're in the city.

An introductory dive is about 130 reals and 180 reals for a licensed diver, with all the gear included.
