The majority of Chilean wine comes from this area south of Santiago that encompasses Region V (Valparaiso), Region VI (Rancagua), Region VII (Maule) and Region VIII (BÃo BÃo). And while the climate is perfect for its vast orchards and vineyards, surfers can find great breaks along the coastline. The cordillera south of Rancagua truly has some great hiking but is routinely forgotten in favor for the better-known Torres del Paine in Patagonia.
