Getting to and away

Trains arrive from Santiago, Concepción and Temuco - check for times - five blocks east of the plaza near the old bus station on Av. Brasil (Tel: 222424).

Almost all long-distance buses pull into and leave from Terminal María Teresa (Tel: 272149) located at O’Higgins 010 on the northern edge of Chillán. The usual suspects all operate from here - Tur Bus, InterSur, Nilahue and more compete to take locals and backpackers to destinations such as Angol, Los Angeles, Puerto Montt, Santiago, Talca, Valdivia and more.

The regional and local buses use the more central Terminal Rural at Maipón 890.
