Safety in Pichilemu

Pichilemu is a relatively safe and laidback town. People routinely stroll along the beach and streets in the early morning without problems -- still, it is wise to be vigilant. Petty theft exists so be aware of your possessions. Beware of dogs raoming the beaches.

Pichilemu was in the path of the tsunami caused by the February 27, 2010, earthquake. In the event of a possible tidal wave, follow the signs to higher ground and officials' instructions.
