Cerro Artilleria

Described as a place of decadent beauty, Cerro Artilleria begins in the old quarter of Valparaíso and has at its peak the Chilean Naval Museum and the Antigua Escuela Naval. From the top of Cerro Artilleria, there’s a magnificent view of Valparaíso and the harbor, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Aconcagua, the highest peak in the

Americas. A string of vendors lines the perimeter of the museum selling typical Chilean handicrafts like alpaca sweaters and lapis lazuli jewelry for cheap. There are a few restaurants and places to stay in this area, but it isn’t safe for lone travelers at night. Take the Artilleria ascensor to get to the top of the hill rather than taking the stairs.

Other neighborhoods in Valparaíso : Parte Antigua, Cerro Barón, Cerro Concepción, Muelle Baron, Cerro Cárcel , Congreso Nacional, Cerro Panteón And Cerro Cárcel, Cerro Alegre, Cerro Santo Domingo and Cerro Bellavista.
