Traveler Reviews of Loft La Matriz

Nice hotel, not-nice location

Yes, the pretty, historic hotel is right next to the oldest church in Valparaiso and the Puerto Mercado. But it's also right in the middle of the part of town that locals consistently caution tourists against visiting alone during the day/at all at night. If safety and central location is a big deal for you, you may want to look elsewhere.

A Nice Discovery

I like the old/new atmosphere and the huge rooms and privacy. At the beginning the run down (but in the middle of a renovation) neighbourhood is a hard experience, but that it is the real, and really friendly Valparaiso. Very close to the main attractions.
