Vacationers from around South America and the world flock to Viña beaches during summer months (late December to late March). Put on a bathing suit and soak up rays on one of the many Viña beaches, or walk or take a bus to Reñaca (about three miles away) and Concón for more beautiful beaches.
In Viña, possibly the most popular beach is Playa Acapulco (8 Norte and Avenida San Martín), where there's ample room and plenty of craft stands to browse. Check out the animal sculptures people mold from only sand and water. Children of all ages can rent a bike cart and peddle around the area.
Playa El Sol is only a few blocks away (11 to 14 Norte with Avenida San Martín), and has a lot more room for you to lay your beach towel. There are also shaded tables where you can enjoy a fresh juice. There's a small kids park near Playa El Sol where children can ride small amusement rides or ride horses.
Playa Caleta Abarca is located next to the Sheraton Hotel near the Clock of Flowers off of Avenida Marina. The strip of white sand offers a nice view of Valparaíso and Reñaca. Go up the stairs and walk around the gardens by the hotel.
