Viña is not a large city. If you are reasonably fit, it is easy to get around by foot.
Viña also has a good network of local buses or "micros" that run around the city and to neighboring Valparaíso, Renaca and Concón. All the buses have a destination sign. You can pick them up on the main street and boulevards.
You can find taxis on most street corners, but they are the most expensive in the entire country. If you must take a taxi, try to get a colectivo. Colectivos run on fixed routes and are much cheaper than private taxis. You can pick them up at bus stops. They are black and you can recognize them by the sign on top advertising their route.
Viña also has a train system or metro that runs from Valparaíso to Viña, Quilpue, Villa Alemana and Limache. The metro stations are located along Avenida Alvarez and Avenida Vianna.
There are plenty of car hire companies as well. Try Hertz on Quillota 766, (Tel: 2-238-1020) or Automovil Club de Chile on 1 Norte 901 (Tel:2-246-0060).
