Buses run every 15 minutes between Viña and Santiago. There is no need to book in advance. The main bus station in Santiago, Terminal Alameda, is located at metro station Universidad de Santiago on metro line 1. Alternatively, take metro line 1 to Pajaritos and use the small bus station, which is a lot less crowded. Pullman and Turbus operate services to Viña from both stations.
A return ticket between Santiago and Viña costs around USD$12 and the journey takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. In the high season and after New Year, it can be difficult to get a seat on Sunday evening departures for Santiago.
