Getting to and away
Buses run every 15 minutes between Viña and Santiago. There is no need to book in advance. The main bus station in Santiago, Terminal Alameda, is located at metro station Universidad de Santiago on metro line 1. Alternatively, take metro line 1 to Pajaritos and use the small bus station, which is a lot less crowded. Pullman and Turbus operate services to Viña from both stations.
A return ticket between Santiago and Viña costs around USD$12 and the journey takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. In the high season and after New Year, it can be difficult to get a seat on Sunday evening departures for Santiago.
Buses run from Viña to the south of Chile and to Mendoza, Argentina. You can’t book online, so ask at the bus terminal for schedules. The bus station is located on Avenida Valparaíso 1055, Tel: (032) 275 2000/ 275 2093.
If driving from Santiago or the south, use Highway 68, through Agua Santa. If driving from Argentina, take Highway 60 via Quillota and Concón.
