Cochrane has few restaurants. Most of them are at hotels, serving the general public during the high season, but only lodge guests during the slow times of the year. Food is a bit more expensive here than in other parts of Chile, with daily specials averaging $9. The town has many small grocery stores around. The largest and most complete is Supermercado Melero (Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-1 p.m., 3-8 p.m. Las Golondrinas 148), which also has camp stove fuel.
