On the Simpson and Paloma Rivers, which have Class II-IV rapids, you can raft or kayak. Fishing in the region is also excellent. Even if you come in winter, you’ll still be able to enjoy the outdoors. In the nature reserves, you can cross-country ski or snowshoe. If you prefer downhill skiing, then spend the day at Centro de Ski el Fraile, 29 kilometers (17.5 mi) southeast of Coyhaique.
