When to Go to Futaleufú

Futaleufú has four distinct seasons. In summer, temperatures reach 30-40ºC (86-100ºF) and is dry. Winters are cold, dipping to -13ºC (9ºF), with up to two meters (6.5 feet) of snow.


The village hosts several events during the summer:

January 23-24 – Rodeo oficial – A chance to see local huasos (cowboys) compete in rodeo events

Second week of February – Semana de Futaleufú – Seven days of festivities, with an election of the queen, float parades, tug of war and other competitions, and a closing night concert

February 20-22 – Futafestival – Rafting and kayaking events

On Christmas Eve, a misa de gallo (midnight mass) is celebrated at Capilla Nuestra Señora del Carmen.
