The forest flora is principally lenga, with coigüe de Magallanes and ñirre. Major mammal inhabitants include zorro culpeo (Lycalopex culpaeus, Patagonian fox), zorro gris (Psuedolopex griseus, South American grey fox), puma (Puma concolor), pudú (Pudu pudu, Chilean miniature deer), coipo (Myocastor coypus, nutria), huemul (Hippocamelus bisulcus, South Andean deer), as well as the non-native species jabalí (Sus scrofa, wild pig) and visón (Mustela vison, American mink).
Bird watchers can look forward to observing Condor (Vultur gryphus, Andean condor), Aguilucho, or pueco (Buteo albigula, White-throated Hawk), Traro (Polyborus plancus, Crested Caracara), Lechuza Blanca (Tyto alba, Common Barn Owl), Carpintero Negro (Campephilus magellanicus, Magellanic Woodpecker), Tiuque (Milvago chimango, Caracara), Caiquen (Chloephaga picta, Magellan Goose or Upland Goose), Martín Pescador (Ceryle torquata, Ringed Kingfisher), Cisne de Cuello Negro (Cignus melancoriphus, Black-necked Swan), Zorzal (Turdua falklandii, Austral Thrush), Huala (Podiceps major, Great Grebe) and Yeco (Phalacrocorax brasilianus, Neotropic Cormorant), in addition to gaviotas (gull) and picaflor (hummingbird).
