The trekking on Navarino Island is the most southerly trekking tour on earth and due to the influence of the subantarctic climate a serious physical challenge for everyone.
After arrival in the capital of Patagonia, Punta Arenas we had a nice welcome-dinner and a short briefing. Next day we were already in Puerto Williams (2.500 hab.), starting point for our trekking adventure. The Dientes de Navarino mountain range is composed of craggy rock formations. Numerous greenish tiny lakes and lagoons surround it like a necklace made up of jewels. We hiked through magellan rainforest, we crossed beaver dikes and snowfields and we encountered strong winds coming from the antarctic. After a few days hiking in this pristine, wild and untouched nature we came back to Puerto Williams. Next day we took the flight back to Punta Arenas.
This was really a unique and also a demanding trekking experience on one of the remotest areas on earth. Just a few people share that experience with us...
