Chile is easily accessed by plane, with many international airlines offering flights into Santiago. It's not the cheapest air travel destination, however, as flights can get costly. If you're trip includes other countries as well as Chile, consider flying in somewhere else to cut costs. Traveling between Chile and other countries in South America can be done by air or land, depending on your priorities. Air is faster and more reliable, but buses will allow you to drink in the truly breathtaking scenery. From cliff-hugging coastal roads to ribbon-like climbs through the Andes, land transport in Chile is better than most South American countries, but still obviously slower than flying.
