Most hotels and hostels have Internet connection and an increasing number have WiFi. Internet connection is usually free in hostels but hotels tend to charge to use the service.
You can easily find Internet cafés in towns and cities. Expect to pay around $0.30 USD for 10 minutes, $0.90 USD for 30 minutes and $1.25 USD for 60 minutes. Many Internet cafés are equipped with headphones and microphones to enable VoIP calls. You can also use the Internet in centros de llamadas (call centers).
Many metro stations in Santiago have free WiFi connection and it’s common to see people surfing the net with their laptops. Several coffee shops in the capital offer free WiFi too.
