If you want to wire money from Chile to an international bank account or vice versa, you need a Chilean bank account. You can only obtain a Chilean bank account if you have a residency visa and proof of a monthly salary that will be paid into your account. It’s much easier to use Western Union. There are branches in all the big cities and towns and money transfer usually takes 24 – 48 hours. Alternatively, make a cash transfer by PayPal but remember this can take three to five working days.
