Chile has extremely high medical standards at relatively low prices. Clean, well-equipped hospitals and qualified doctors (often bilingual) should not be too hard to find, especially in the capital city, Santiago. Private hospitals (clínicas) receive more funding and therefore tend to offer better services than public hospitals. Additionally, they may be more willing to your work with you concerning payment, which will depend on your medical insurance from home or traveler’s insurance abroad.
