If you're heading out to the islas of Juan Fernández, you might want to plan around its rainy season, which falls from October to February. This said, the leeward (western) side of Robinson Crusoe is generally dry and even in winter months should not be too unpleasant. Festival days fall on June 29th—the celebration of San Pedro, the patron saint of fisherman—and November 22nd—commemoration of the 1574 day when the archipelago was discovered by Juan Fernández. This later celebration includes a 13km running race from Bahía Cumberland to Punda de Isla as well as a regatta of local boats.
