Hotel

By Meggan Rau

It may not be the fanciest hotel in town, but it is perhaps the friendliest. Aquaterra is run by three transplanted santiaguinos who fell in love with the cold, windy town, and it’s apparent that much care has gone into the operation of this rustic yet cozy hotel. Rooms are on the smaller side, but are bright and comfortable, and have plush beds with luxurious down comforters. The hotel has a restaurant and a lounge with a fire-burning stove, perfect for relaxing with a hot cup of coffee or a glass of Chilean wine. A buffet breakfast is included in the price, as well as a welcome drink upon your arrival. The hotel offers massages for $25 per hour, pricey, but worth it after completing the punishing circuit at Torres del Paine.
