In geological terms, an erratic rock is a rock that has been “carried by a glacier far enough from its source to be deposited in a different environment completely.” This definition also aptly describes the owners of this trekker’s hostel, two seasoned backpackers (not businessmen), who have succeeded in creating a quality lodging establishment and expert guide service. The hostel features dorms and private rooms, two living rooms, a DVD collection with over 250 titles, a book exchange, and free Internet and WiFi. The hostel also boasts a hearty “trekkers breakfast” which will provide you with the energy necessary to navigate the trails. Most importantly, however, the friendly staff is eager to provide expert advice and guidance on trekking through nearby Torres del Paine. Equipment rentals are available.
