In the heart of Punta Arenas, just half a block from the Plaza de Armas, Hostal Calafate is right across from the regional museum. Rooms are large and come with cable TV, telephone and heating and either private or shared bathrooms. The hotel is home to a great internet café, open from 8 a.m through midnight, but for those who bring their laptop with them, there is free WiFi. The hotel has laundry and fax services. It also offers a number of other helpful services including reservations for trips to Torres del Paine, penguin-viewing and other popular trips. Breakfast is included in the price.
