Island
V!VA User‘s Description
Navarino Island lies on the Beagle channel and belongs to Tierra del Fuego-Chile. The island is divided by the Dientes de Navarino mountain range in a north and a south part. The southern half of Navarino Island is very exposed to the strong antarctic winds. This part of the island is a very boggy, mudy and swampy area. The northern part is more sheltered. However, Isla Navarino is a very wild, pristine and remote area where you can encounter snowfall even in summer. Navarino Island is a trekking paradise and a must for all the real trekkers and hikers.
