Tourism is a major part of the Puerto Varas economy. That being said, there are a lot of different tour operators in the area. Many of the tours are well organized and honest but be wary when setting up reservations. Make sure that you are getting exactly what you want for a price that is reasonable. Most companies are multilingual, speaking French, German, English and sometimes Italian. The range of activities offered are numerous and the coverage is extensive.
